Pre-Renewal Checklist

SSW (i) Renewal: Stay indefinitely on SSW status. Family reunification available. PR eligible after 10 years of continuous employment.
SSW (ii): Expanded work categories and flexibility. PR pathway (10 years).
HSP (Highly Skilled Professional): Points-based system (age, salary, education, experience, language). Qualifies with 70+ points. Much faster PR timeline: 1-3 years instead of 10.
Permanent Residency (PR): Lifelong Japan residence status. SSW: 10 years ยท HSP: 1-3 years.
Corporate Sponsorship: Transition to investor, engineer, or manager visa if changing employment role or starting a business.
