Don't wait until Year 4!
The advanced exam has a 30โ40% pass rate. You need at least 1โ2 years of study while working. If you start in Year 4 and fail, you may run out of time and be forced to return home.
Valid SSW(i) card + 2โ3 years work performance.
Pass the "Advanced Skills Examination" for your sector.
N4 required (SSW i), N3 or N2 highly recommended for SSW(ii).
Must have letter of support and a new long-term contract.
*Spread over 2โ3 years. Employer may cover some costs.
Once you achieve SSW(ii), you can sponsor your spouse and children for a "Dependent" visa.
